The tapestry of Helen’s life is dotted with the faces of those she cherished, and those who’ve journeyed to the afterlife before her. She was met in her heavenly ascent by her devoted husband, Patrick J. “Esso” Farabaugh, her siblings Mary (Peter) Jovanis, Paul (Rose) Washinsky, and Nick Washinsky, as well as her close in-laws Joe (Anna) Farabaugh, Eileen (Bud) Link, and Emma (Paul) Venesky.

Helen’s legacy thrives through the love and memories of her children, Maria (Randy) Choby of Patton and Patty (Mike) Marine of Altoona. She held close the joys of her granddaughters, Erica (Kevin Soles) Jackson of Pittsburgh and Erin Choby of Patton. Helen’s laughter and stories live on in her great-grandchildren: Avery & Reed Jackson and Zori & Alina Soles, as well as numerous treasured nieces and nephews.

Professionally, Helen was an integral part of the Bakerton Supply Company Store and was the backbone in managing her husband’s venture, Pat’s Exxon Station, for an impressive span of over 45 years. Her faith found solace at the Sacred Heart Church in Bakerton, and later at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Carrolltown. Furthermore, Helen extended her services to the community as a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #8897.

To honor her remarkable life, family and friends are invited to gather in the Boniface Wimmer Room at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 10:00 am. This will lead up to the heartfelt 11:00 am Funeral Mass officiated by Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB. Helen’s final resting place will be the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bakerton. The arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family suggests contributions be made to the Garvey Manor Nursing Home’s Good Samaritan Fund at 1037 South Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
